“About This Thing Called the Real World”
In this special presentation for parents, Bob shares a delightful collection of stories that offer parents an honest look at life in the "real world" as seen through the eyes of their children.
Bob encourages parents to recognize that, from a young person's perspective, the "real world" is happening right now. While the future is certainly important, learning to take responsibility for who they are and what they believe is essential to their kids today.
Through the stories he shares, Bob reveals common frustrations, fears, hopes and dreams of young people in an attempt to bridge the gaps that frequently emerge between teens and their parents as they collectively confront the challenges of growing up. He offers parents several new methods of identifying with their kids in the hope that they will communicate more effectively with their kids.
Through it all, Bob stresses the importance of family and friends as a source of guidance, direction and support. The message? It’s as challenging to raise a kid as it is to be a kid.
